Breathedge 2 Hotfix 0.8.10 Patch Notes: Markers, Stuck Spots & UI
Official Breathedge 2 Hotfix 0.8.10 (September 23, 2026): mud statue markers, snowman nose fix, cleared stuck spots, journal and encyclopedia fixes, lighter movement penalties.

Breathedge 2 Early Access moved to Hotfix 0.8.10 on September 23, 2026 — the sixth hotfix since the August 31 launch, and the first new build in ten days. There is no new content in it, but three of its four groups touch things you feel while playing: quest markers, getting stuck in geometry, and how hard the game punishes you for being tired, stuffed or overloaded.
Everything below comes from the official patch notes.
Quest markers got more forgiving
- The mud statue now shows three markers instead of one, and each marker disappears as the matching part of the sculpture is finished. If you were circling the area hunting the next slot, this is the fix.
- The mud ball’s trajectory line now points at the center of the sculpture instead of its head, so throws that looked correct on screen should land where the marker says.
- Snowman nose exploit closed. You could previously fit the carrot and the cigarette as the nose at the same time and have both count toward the quest. Only one nose item counts now.
- Latin American Spanish only: placing the alphabet letters on the taxi sign did not register properly, while regular Spanish worked. Fixed. For everyone else the 0.8.7 note still stands — the scattered letters are intentional design, not a bug.
Stuck spots cleared
- Getting stuck inside the Station Caretaker while installing parts — if it happens, the character is now moved up and out instead of staying trapped.
- Getting stuck while installing antenna parts.
- Getting stuck in the niche of Chuck’s taxi.
- The white toilet door no longer shifts after loading, which is what let you get caught in it.
- Training dummies received improved collisions — 0.8.5 stopped them from floating away in space, and this build stops you from clipping into them.
Interface and encyclopedia
- Steam Deck UI buttons that required pressing the right trackpad now work normally.
- The fried worm is categorized as food instead of a generic consumable, and it finally has an encyclopedia entry.
- Some encyclopedia entries were removed — the ones describing characters you only meet in upcoming chapters — so the encyclopedia no longer lists people the current build does not introduce.
- Examining a collectible now opens the collectibles entry, not the encyclopedia’s start page.
- Journal scrollbar was missing at exactly five tasks (it only appeared from six), which left some languages scrolling with the mouse wheel or gamepad only. Fixed.
- The character window now shows resistances, which were previously left blank.
- Sleep can be interrupted with Esc or the gamepad Cancel button — no more waiting out a nap you did not mean to start.
- The stabilization hint no longer stays on screen forever after you get past the turret at the ticket office.
Balance lines worth noticing
- Movement speed penalties from the fatigue, overeating and overload debuffs were reduced. The game still slows you when you are exhausted, full to bursting or carrying too much — just less than before. Together with 0.8.6’s 15% slower survival drain in standard mode, the loop keeps getting gentler rather than harsher.
- Moles no longer respawn after you destroy them. If you cleared a mole and it kept coming back, that was the bug.
What it means for how you play
- Nothing here resets progression. No object was reassigned to a different tool, no quest step was reblocked and no save behavior changed — that makes 0.8.10 much lighter than 0.8.7 and 0.8.8.
- Retry the steps that ate you. If a mud statue slot, an antenna part or Chuck’s taxi niche swallowed you before September 23, update and try again — both the markers and the collision geometry were changed.
- Steam Deck players get the practical win: the trackpad is no longer required for basic menus, so aiming and inventory work the way you would expect on the built-in controls.
- Heavy loot runs cost less time. A smaller overload movement penalty means hauling a full inventory back to storage is slightly cheaper in real minutes.
