Breathedge 2 entered Steam Early Access on August 31, 2026, and RedRuins Softworks has been patching it at a fast Early Access cadence ever since. This page tracks every build in one place so you do not have to dig through Steam announcements, and it links to our detailed breakdown of each hotfix. We verify builds against the SteamDB build history and the developer’s official announcements, and we only list changes that appear in official notes.

Build numbers and dates come from the official SteamDB build history for app 2412960. Newer hotfixes may exist by the time you read this — the Steam announcements page is the canonical feed, and we update this table when a new build lands.

The hotfixes that change how the game plays

Most of the early hotfixes are stability work, but these have real gameplay weight:

  • 0.8.6 slowed standard-mode survival pressure. Food, water and fatigue drain 15% slower in standard mode, in direct response to player reports that hunger and thirst burned too fast. Easy and Story difficulties remain available, and since 0.8.6 you can switch difficulty without starting a new save.
  • 0.8.7 changed which tool dismantles what. The train crate, lamp shades, robots and doors no longer respond to the crowbar — they require the Twister. If an object refuses to break post-0.8.7, it is probably a Twister job, not a bug.
  • 0.8.8 reclassified two more objects and cleared a list of quest blockers. The Pornhubble grate now requires the cutter, and the coffinbot train door and drillers’ round door now require the screwdriver. It also fixed the Zarya engine ice, the taxi complex pump, the intercom “find the battery on the roof” stage, the five-larvae quest stall and the station chief’s head never appearing.
  • 0.8.8 closed a save-lock hole: saving at the very start of the intro scene could lock the game on load. The game now only allows saving in the starting scene after the kid leaves the train car.
  • 0.8.9 replaced Suit’s English voiceover entirely with the actor from the first Breathedge. The developer said the original English performance was the hardest part to carry over because the game was written and voiced in Russian first.
  • 0.8.10 softened the debuff movement penalties. Fatigue, overeating and overload now slow you less, and the same notes clear a fresh list of stuck spots (Station Caretaker, antenna parts, Chuck’s taxi niche, the white toilet door).

The 0.8.7 notes also contain the quietly important one: the taxi alphabet letters scattered within a roughly 20-meter radius are intentional, not a bug, and the scatter radius grew compared to the demo.

What RedRuins has said comes next

These are official plan statements, and Early Access plans can change:

  • Early Access is expected to run roughly 16–20 months, with the price increasing at full release (official Steam Early Access text).
  • The first major update is planned around transport, more lore and quests, new locations, progression and NPC work.
  • A second major update is described as the target for base building, separate structures and planetary-surface gameplay.
  • A 1.0 release around December 2026 has been reported in community coverage — treat that as a report, not an official date: to be confirmed.

How to read a Breathedge 2 hotfix

A week of Early Access hotfixes has a recognizable shape, and knowing it helps you decide whether a patch changes your game:

  • Launch-week hotfixes are mostly stability work. 0.8.5 and half of 0.8.7 are crash, save and input fixes. Unless a fix names a scenario you hit (shuttle flight saves, depot yoke, ultrawide), they change nothing about how you play.
  • Watch for the balance lines. A single sentence like 0.8.6’s “food, water and fatigue drain 15% slower in standard mode” outweighs ten bug fixes — it changes the day-to-day survival loop for everyone. Balance changes are also the clearest sign the developer is listening to feedback threads.
  • Watch for “not a bug” clarifications. 0.8.7’s taxi-letters note (scattered within a roughly 20-meter radius by design) is the template: a task that looks broken gets explained as intentional design. Before filing a bug or restarting over a stuck quest, check whether the latest notes explain it.
  • Tool and interaction rules can tighten. The 0.8.7 crowbar/Twister change silently redefined which tool dismantles which objects. Interaction-rule changes like this tend to generate a wave of “is this a bug?” posts — they are not.
  • Save notes are warning labels. When notes say “the game now only saves after you fully exit the flight scene,” read it as advice too: stop closing the game during sequence transitions.

Where to read the full notes

The developer posts notes on the Steam Community announcements page; SteamDB mirrors them with exact build numbers, which is what our table above uses. We link each version’s full text from its summary, and our detailed pages add what the changes mean for play rather than restating them.

Buying context right now

The EA launch price is $19.99, with a 20% introductory discount to $15.99 running until September 12 (official Steam store page). The official Early Access text warns the price will rise at 1.0, so the discount window is the cheapest entry the game has advertised so far.
