Breathedge 2 Early Access moved to Hotfix 0.8.9 on September 13, 2026 — the eighth build since Early Access opened on August 31. This one is unusual: the headline change is not a fix but a full re-recording of the English voiceover for Suit.

Everything below comes from the official patch notes.

Suit’s English voice was replaced

The developer replaced Suit’s entire English voiceover with the actor who voiced the first Breathedge game. Their explanation matters for how you should judge it:

Breathedge was written and voiced in Russian first, and Suit carries most of the game’s humor — which also makes him the hardest part to carry over into another language. This work was about bringing the English performance closer to the character as he was originally written.

In other words: if English Suit’s delivery felt off to you in the first two weeks, that was a known weakness rather than the intended performance, and 0.8.9 is the fix. If you play in Russian, nothing changes for you.

Fixes

  • Encyclopedia text errors corrected.
  • Encyclopedia hyperlinks now work.
  • Steam Deck optimization improved.
  • Fixed an issue where putting the dummy in the locker was not counted.
  • Fixed the marker not being placed on the chief’s head after his body exploded.

What it means for how you play

  • Nothing in this patch changes progression or tools. Unlike 0.8.7 and 0.8.8, no object was reassigned to a different tool, and no quest step was reblocked. If you already cleared the Zarya engines, taxi complex pump and intercom battery stage, you do not need to redo them.
  • The locker dummy fix matters for completionists. If you had put the dummy away and the game did not register it, that now counts — check whether the related objective completes after updating.
  • Steam Deck players should see the optimization improvement without changing settings.

Where this fits in the hotfix streak

0.8.5 (September 1) launch-day breakage, 0.8.6 (September 2) survival drain and quests, 0.8.7 (September 4) stability and interaction polish, 0.8.8 (September 9) quest and save blockers, 0.8.9 (September 13) voice replacement and encyclopedia fixes. We track every build in the patch notes tracker.
