Breathedge 2 Early Access: Content, Length, Price & What Is Missing

A clean breakdown of what Breathedge 2 includes at Early Access launch, what is planned for later, and what has not been confirmed yet.

Breathedge 2 is launching as a real Early Access build, not a feature-complete 1.0 game with a tiny label slapped on top. The first major story chapter and a large exploration area are in. The whole story, planetary gameplay, personal transport and base building are not all there on day one.

What is confirmed for Early Access launch

The developer’s current list includes:

  • open-space survival and exploration
  • resource gathering and looting
  • crafting and DIY upgrades
  • equipment and spacesuit upgrades
  • repairs and dismantling
  • armor and combat
  • eating and breathing systems
  • main quests and side quests
  • NPCs
  • collectibles and achievements
  • optional locations and events

That is enough for a substantial first chapter. The official store page does not give this site a reliable, current playtime promise, so we do not turn an old estimate into a launch expectation.

What is planned later

The roadmap direction includes new story content, new areas, additional characters and quests, more equipment, transportation, a personal spacecraft, a warp-jump system and building. A June 2026 developer update said the first major update is planned to focus on personal transport, more lore/quests, more location content, progression, NPCs and mechanics. Base building, separate structures and planetary gameplay were described as targets for the second major update.

Those are roadmap items, not launch features. If a pre-release wiki gives you exact recipes for a base module that is not in the launch build, that’s a red flag.

How long will Early Access last?

The current Steam estimate is roughly 16–20 months, with the usual Early Access caveat: scope and timing can change based on development and feedback.

How much will it cost?

The developer says the lowest price should be at the start of Early Access, with the price likely rising gradually as major updates arrive. The exact launch price was not confirmed in the sources we could verify at the time this page was checked, so this guide does not invent one.

What changed from the 2025 demo?

A lot. The studio said it threw the demo build out and rebuilt the game heavily after deciding the demo had become too dialogue-heavy and too light on survival mechanics. Treat demo recipes, oxygen values and quest routes as archive information until they are re-checked in the August 31 build.

Read the demo archive before using any old walkthrough, and use the roadmap guide for future features.
